University of Nebraska at Kearney

College of Business and Technology

The College of Business and Technology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney commits itself to providing learning in an experiential fashion. The college believes that the knowledge that students gain in the classroom is best supplemented with practical knowledge in the field at the same time. The school offers degrees in accounting, finance, interior design, aviation systems, IT and military science. It also offers MBA programs.

MBA in Accounting

The college offers an MBA program with an accounting track for qualifying students. The goal of the program is to prepare students to enter into a management position in a small or large organization regardless of their aspirations are in the public, private or non-profit sector. The program offers small class sizes which include between 10 and 20 students in each class.

The MBA course requires the completion of 33 credit hours, 18 of these credit hours are made up of MBA foundational core courses including economics, statistics, accounting, leadership and marketing. The required courses are scheduled as evening or online courses in order facilitate the schedules of students who work during the day.

Once the 18 hours of general courses are complete, the student will take 15 hours of course to satisfy the accounting track. The Management Information Systems Seminar is a required course.

Students also must take either Managerial Economics or Operations Management.

The College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha offers a business school setting that encourages both academic rigor and community collaboration. Master of Accounting

Acceptance onto the course hinges on successful completion of 33 credit hours of foundation requirements. Once accepted, students must complete 15 hours of required core courses. Students may choose from:

School of Accountancy

The School of Accountancy aims to create a scholarly environment that fosters intellectual curiosity through the development and creation of relevant research within the field of accounting.

Master of Professional Accountancy

The Master of Professional Accountancy program is available to applicants with a bachelor’s degree. It is also available to students at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln who are entering the senior year of the accountancy undergraduate program at the school.

The program is completed when the students finish the 36 hours of required coursework. An internship program is also available for students who begin the graduate program during their senior year.
